WYRE Forest District Council is looking to make a splash with its budget proposals for 2012/13.
An area where the council is considering spending money is on the district’s paddling pools.
Budget proposals announced this week by district council leader, Conservative councillor John Campion have set aside £300,000 to create “splash parks”.
He said: “This area enjoys its paddling pools. We will be considering what to do with them and making funds available to turn two of the pools into splash parks.” The parks will be larger pools with water jets.
“It’s all part of thinking about things differently and in terms of supporting the community,” added Mr Campion, “They’re fun and children like to play in the jet water.”
The council is yet to decide where the splash parks will be and when they will be introduced.
