BEWDLEY’S star of The Voice, Becky Hill, is through to the semi-final of the BBC’s singing competition.

The 18-year-old battled her way into the last eight with a show-stopping performance of Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes.

It was tense viewing as Becky forgot her words at the beginning of her song and mouthed the F word on Saturday’s live show.

She got herself together and carried on belting out the rest of the rock anthem, but appeared flustered when presenter Holly Willoughby asked if she had done enough. “I don’t know,” she said.

Coach Jessie J rose from her seat and took Becky off the stage to tell her: “Take your moment”.Later she added: “You don’t realise how amazing your voice is.”

Fellow coach, Tom Jones, said: “She always does enough for me. She’s on fire. She takes it to the extreme. So much so, I get a little concerned in the way she sings. I’m frightened she will damage her voice.”

Danny O’Donoghue, frontman of The Script, said he wanted to duet with Becky.

“You’re a fantastic performer,” he said. “You held the audience in the palm of your hand. You’re pretty much there.”

Our girl had clearly done enough as Jessie J saved her on Sunday’s results show, taking her through to this week’s semi-final where she must sing for survival once more.
