TWO people were seriously injured after a collision near Bewdley.

It happened at about 1.15pm on Saturday, May, 26 at Ribbesford on the B4194 switchback road.

A green Land Rover Defender was travelling towards Stourport and had just driven past Bewdley Town Football Club when it was involved in a collision with a white Toyota Aygo travelling in the opposite direction.

The male driver and passenger of the Land Rover were both flown by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The driver was treated for a broken ankle and facial injuries. The passenger suffered serious head injuries and an injury to his leg and is said to be in a critical but stable condition.

The woman driver of the Toyota suffered minor hand injuries but did not require any hospital treatment.

PC James Benjamin said: "We would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing those vehicles on that road before the collision or witnessed what happened.

"An investigation has been launched into how and why this collision occurred, and we are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact us on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident reference 372-S-260512."
