FORMER and current pupils of a Kidderminster school shared fond memories of the building before it is demolished next month.
They visited St Catherine's CofE Primary School along with parents and staff for one last look around the Marlpool Lane site, before pupils move into the new building, which has been built on the school’s playing field.
The current building was opened in 1972, as Marlpool First school and some of the former teachers first pupils their shared their memories at the event.
Marlpool First School closed in 2007, following the Wyre Forest education shake-up and St Catherine’s CofE Primary School was founded.
Sarah Power, headteacher, said: “We are so pleased that we decided to host this event. We had no idea how many people would be so keen to visit for one last time.
“It was fascinating to hear such a variety of stories of years gone by, everyone had a lovely afternoon. Our grateful thanks go to the Co-op and their staff for providing such a tasty array of cakes and treats.”
