THE president of Kidderminster Lions Club has marked the group’s 37th charter anniversary by planting a tree.
Colin Hill planted the ornamental cherry tree to mark the event at Bodenham Arboretum in Wolverley.
Tree planting by Lions members is a worldwide initiative by the Lions international president Wing-Kun Tam who challenged the Lions of the world to plant one million trees.
So far more than seven million have been planted exceeding expectations.
The Kidderminster Lions Club, with the help of St Mary’s Primary School planted 100 trees in Springfield Park earlier this year.
This was Mr Hill’s final duty as president as he is due to hand over the title to Lion Terry White who starts his presidential year in July.
