A “NEARLY-naked” man, originally from Stourport, will run and cycle more than 800 miles during eight gruelling days for charity.
Andy Barham, 40, will run 13 miles and cycle 100 miles each day from Land’s End to John O’Groats – about 840 miles in total – starting on Thursday, August 2.
Mr Barham, who was born in Stourport and now lives in Gloucester, will take on the challenge with model and business woman Amanda Rendall. They aim to raise £5,000 for the Male Cancer Awareness Campaign.
Mr Barham returned to his home town to publicise the event by setting up an exercise bike at Stourport Boat Club. His “nearly-naked” suit is skin-coloured with fake muscles outlined.
He said: “I chose Male Cancer Awareness as I had a scare with testicular cancer about six years ago and was scared, didn’t want to admit it, didn’t want to talk to anyone.
“That awareness and acceptance that it is OK to talk about is what makes this charity’s work so good.”
