A HALESOWEN painting and decorating contractor has been recognised in an awards scheme.
Colin Hill Painters & Decorators Ltd won an award for one of its projects at the Painting & Decorating Awards 25th anniversary.
The project that was nominated was St Barnabas Church, Church Road, Erdington, Birmingham.
The Church is a grade II listed building that was burnt down in 2007 and underwent a full refurbishment.
The awards ceremony was held in Plaisterers Hall in London and awards were presented by the Duke Of Gloucester.
The nominations had four categories - commercial, decorative, industrial and small contractors.
Colin Hill Painters & Decorators Ltd, a member of the Painting and Decorating Association, was nominated in the decorative category and gained a commended award, up against multi-national companies.
The family-run business has been trading for more than 35 years.
Colin Hill, the founder, retired seven years ago. His son, Chris Hill, has been running the company since then.
Chris Hill trained at Stourbridge College’s Hagley Road campus as a painter and decorator, winning the decorator of the year award about 20 years ago.
