THE Midcounties Co-operative has appointed Mark Olliver superintendent pharmacist.

He has had 20 years’ industry experience in managerial, consultancy and operational roles.

Mr Olliver will be responsible for helping all branches provide the best quality care for patients, while ensuring all branches adhere to the highest clinical standards and working with the management team to deliver the group’s financial targets.

He will help develop the society’s pharmacy business by forging external links to showcase the group’s community services and oversee the commissioning of new NHS and private services.

Mr Olliver is a pharmacy graduate of University of London (King’s), a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and has a Clinical Certificate in Community Pharmacy.

The Midcounties Co-operative operates 45 pharmacies and one specialist gift and beauty business. Trading across nine PCTs, the society dispenses more than 3.9 million NHS prescriptions a year, with a turnover of over £42 million.
