LUDLOW'S MP is organising another jobs fair in the town to try and help local businesses, training providers and those looking for work to connect.

Following his previous jobs fairs in both Ludlow and Bridgnorth last year, Conservative Philip Dunne is encouraging local people looking for work to go to the Ludlow Jobs Fair at The Studio, Harley Centre on Wednesday, April 23, from 10am to 1pm.

Mr Dunne said: “South Shropshire's economy is recovering, so the number of JSA claimants is down one third on a year ago but we can never afford to be complacent and I want to see more local people find stable long-term employment, so I am organising another jobs fair in Ludlow to help employers and local jobseekers to connect.

"My last jobs fair in Ludlow was attended by nearly 300 jobseekers, so I hope we can have another successful event and help more people who want to find jobs locally to do so.

"We already have 10 companies and 11 training providers signed up to exhibit at the event, so this will be a great chance for local jobseekers to meet employers or providers who can help them to acquire the skills needed to get into work.

"With the Government’s £2,000 cut in National Insurance contributions for businesses and charities starting in April many local employers will be looking to take advantage and hire extra help, so I urge anyone currently looking for work to come to The Studio at the Harley Centre on April 23 between 10am and 1pm to see what opportunities are available.”

Employers and training providers already signed up to exhibit include Barchester Health, Tesco, Muller England, Esterform, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, the Armed Forces, Nova Training and the National Careers Service.

Any businesses that wish to exhibit or advertise a position on the jobs board should contact Jane Gibson in Philip Dunne’s constituency office on 01584 872187.
