JEMIMA Packington, the UK's only asparamancer, proved to be the most reliable seer when it came to predicting evictions on this year's Big Brother.

Appearing on Big Brother's Little Brother, Jemima was pitted against an astrologer and a celebrity psychic, among others, and was the only one to get all three of her eviction predictions correct.

Jemima learnt the art of tea-leaf reading from her great aunt but found she achieved more accurate predictions using asparagus. She has become world famous by telling people's fortunes through the pattern asparagus falls in when tossed into the air.

Destination Worcestershire, the county's tourism arm, said it was the first to recognise Jemima's skill when she was invited to demonstrate her art on its stand at the British Travel Trade Fair. She has helped promote the fact the county is the UK's largest supplier of asparagus throughout the year.

It hosts the country's only Asparagus Festival in May each year, including the newly-introduced Asparagus Run, the British equivalent of the once-popular Beaujolais event.

Commenting on Jemima's success, Destination Worcestershire's marketing head, Rod Nipper, said: "We are truly proud of Jemima's uncanny ability to make accurate predictions using asparagus.

“According to our home-grown asparamancer, Worcestershire is set to become the Uk's next great getaway destination in 2009."
