O’NEILL Concrete Pumping, part of the Wolverhampton-based O’Neill Construction Group, has recently taken delivery of its second pumping machine, enabling it to double its ability to service builders and civil engineering contractors in the West Midlands region and beyond.

The machines are manufactured by the Transcrete Corporation in Australia, where concrete pumping is an established and accepted method of delivering concrete to specific points on construction sites.

“In the UK, approximately 12 per cent of concrete is moved by pump, whereas in Australia and the United States it is nearer to 80 per cent,” said chairman, Des O’Neill Snr.

“Since acquiring our first pump, just over three years ago, we’ve been impressed by how well the pump has been received by those who have used it. We work with both large contractors and small builders, predominantly on sites where access is limited.

“We have found that the relatively small size of the Isuzu is ideal in allowing us to park close to where the concrete is needed. Our customers like this and also the fact that we can pump concrete right to where they need it, literally in minutes. As we say ‘Don’t hump, pump it.’”

Such has been the growth in demand that a third pump is currently on order.
