Outdated formalities of corporate culture are being sacked off, in favour of creating a more pleasant working environment. Employees have been focussing on giving employees perks that make them happy, healthy and more relaxed.

Surprisingly, it’s the larger corporations have been spearheading new trends. Conglomerate, Google, is notorious for it. Google boasts a plethora of perks, creating an office oasis with gourmet food, free massages and even a concierge service.

On their website, Google states:

“Our benefits are part of who we are, and they're designed to take care of the whole you and keep you healthy, whether physically, emotionally, financially or socially.”

Such an attitude makes sense. How can you expect to have a loyal, productive member of staff they’re not happy at work.

In short, engaged employees are a powerful resource. Of course, a 5 star canteen isn’t feasible for all of us. Here’s are some perks you could consider offering

- Travel allowance
- Flexible working times
- Time off in Lieu
- Expenses account
- Training and personal development allowance
- Help with childcare arrangements
