THE Shuttle of November 8 had sisters jailed for eight years for a brutal attack, teacher guilty in child sex case, the Betty Yates murder, rapist jailed for eight years, salesman attacked in street and police hunt pub attackers.
What is the answer to these crimes? Put up a speed camera, according to another story in the same issue!
I would rather the police got on with tackling the crime that is hurting people, not put up speed cameras.
West Midlands Police have announced they are switching off speed cameras due to cost.
So I would like Councillor Mumshad Ahmed, who welcomed this Kidderminster camera, to provide costings for installing it, the annual maintenance/analysing/ sending out fines, police time chasing errant drivers and the courts’ time prosecuting drivers.
The money from fines will go to the Treasury so this is going to cost council taxpayers.
The police could be getting on with more important crime.
