I WISH to respond to Stourport Mayor Ken Henderson’s letter patting himself and the town council on the back (Achievements are boost for Stourport, Shuttle Opinion, February 20).
How is it that Lloyds Garage has been vacant for three years and it looks like it will remain vacant for another two years?
The failings of all the Stourport councillors meant Lloyds had to move reluctantly to Sandy Lane where they have been broken into several times, but they could have rented the Bridge Street premises until a bona fide contract had been signed.
With regard to the illegal parking in Bridge Street and especially outside the Drinkers World shop, a camera could be installed to detect licence plates and fine the owners of the vehicles.
But I agree with Mr Hendeson that it is great for the people of Stourport and surrounding areas that the Civic is to be refurbished.
