I PARKED in Bewdley for one hour, but because I couldn’t get to my car in the time allocated – I’m 80 and not very good at walking nowadays – I sent my daughter to put another ticket on to cover the next hour.
Being a non-driver, she didn’t remove the first ticket, so therefore I was penalised because I ‘returned within an hour’ and renewed the ticket.
I thought this was the best and most honest thing to do – but no – the ‘powers that be’ decided I was very naughty and shouldn’t have come back within the hour.
Pleading did nothing – and the irony was that the next day, because of the floods, all parking charges were lifted!
I have been a loyal supporter of Bewdley since 1970s, having lived and worked there – but will not be coming back though.
Never mind, the chap in the office who denied my pleading will be old himself one day.
