Does Stephen Clee realise the good work put into the community by Bewdley Town FC?
The club runs 13 teams, from under-eights to seniors. This is in an age when we are trying to encourage younger people to be more active and we hear about children just hanging around in groups wandering our local streets with nothing to do.
Bewdley Town are playing an active role in trying to change this culture. What reward? Mr Clee and his planning team trying to stop them.
Bewdley Town rekindled my interest in football, after becoming disillusioned with the modern game where money is more important than the sport.
I can watch Bewdley play, with my son, have a programme and drinks, all for £7.
The players themselves play for no wages. After a recent cup game the team won £700. Would the players take the money? No, they gave it back to the club funds. Would Premiership players do this? I think not.
Come on Mr Clee, get rid of the red tape, support your local football club in the way that they are trying to support the youth in our community.
