FOLLOWING an accident where a cyclist, riding down the footpath from the Walshes estate to the Rough at its junction with Dunley Road, collided with a car leaving the caravan park, I have requested that the Highways Department erect a staggered safety barrier at the end of this steep footpath to prevent this happening again.
Although there are no cycling signs at either end of this footpath, it is often used by cyclists.
There is also a danger of a young child running out into the road at the end of this footpath.
