WITH reference to the Gilgal in Stourport, the traffic would be eased greatly if only people knew how to use the one-way system effectively!
It is simple really, you follow the lane round and then merge into the lane you want when it is safe to do so.
It is absolutely not necessary to stop at the fork in the road until there is nothing coming – does anyone see a give-way sign there?
Of course, it does not help matters when people are parked in the Gilgal, more often than not blocking the entire left-hand lane. It is increasingly frustrating to have to sit behind a driver who waits and waits and waits for nothing to be coming!
Maybe a ‘merge in turn’ sign, coupled with double yellow lines, would help ease the congestion?
