I FEEL I have to write regarding the ‘boy racers’ debate.

This is nothing new, it’s been going on for years with youngsters buying their first car and spicing it up with a loud exhaust and top-of-the-range stereo etc.

Youngsters are not the only ones floating the law, but seem to get the blame every time.

In most cases, it doesn’t mean they are driving erratically or speeding as if they are.

They have been through a far stiffer driving test than most of the older drivers, but are still classed as inconsiderate road users, hooligans etc.

They are just young enthusiastic car owners with a hobby.

They’re no different to myself and a lot of lads my age in the 60s and 70s.

Of course, there are some inconsiderate young motorists, but there are inconsiderate motorists of all ages.

Give the youngsters a break.
