A KIDDERMINSTER film director is in the process of developing a new post WWII TV series set in the town - and he needs your help.

Kidderminster's Fernando Antonio Maffei, is looking for some inspiration for his new ambitious project 'The Britalians', a story based on the life of his great grandfather Crescenzo from Italy.

He was a prisoner in Bromsgrove following the war and eventually ended up working at a carpet factory in Kidderminster.

The 36-year-old director has said the show will be a "personal story" about his family and one he hopes will educate people about the history of Italians in the UK.

Now, he wants to hear for war veterans and former Carpet industry workers who can share their experiences and insights to inspire the TV show.

Mr Maffei told the Shuttle: "The idea for the show is not only to tell a story, but to give people an identity.

"British Italians don't have their story out their. It's about telling a story that I feel needs to be told."

Anyone who would like to share their experiences with the director can contact him via chilliroseproductions@gmail.com or fenmaffei@hotmail.co.uk

'The Britalians' has had interest from some of the UK’s leading production companies according to the director.

Mr Maffei and his team will be attending this year’s high profile Birmingham Film Market at the Grand Hotel, pitching the show to some of the biggest names in the Film and TV industry.
