KEMP Hospice will reopen its doors once again to patients and bereavement clients from across the Wyre Forest.

After a full year of offering support via phone, Zoom calls, Virtual Day Hospice and outreaching into homes, staff will be welcoming patients, their carers and bereavement clients, back into the Hospice building on Mason Road.

Laurey Grennall, head of hospice services said: “We’re starting off slowly with a phased return initially, by inviting patients for 1:1 assessments, therapies and support.

Then, dependent on Covid-19 guidelines and KEMP’s assessment at a later stage, we would want to start to invite patients, their carers and our bereavement clients to small groups.

“After the isolation of shielding for a year it will be an absolute joy to see patients and carers back at KEMP Hospice again.”

Heidi Hawkins, KEMP Hospice chief executive said: “We’ve adapted our services throughout the pandemic to ensure we could continue to provide support to our patients and carers.

"However, we love nothing more than to welcome patients into the Hospice. The entire team here at KEMP has been given such a boost and has an overwhelming sense of joy that we can finally open our doors once more.”

During the pandemic, KEMP Hospice has taken time to reassess their services, to ensure they can provide an individualised plan of care and support to patients and their carers in the Wyre Forest.
