A HERO of England's rugby 2003 World Cup winning team paid a visit to Kidderminster Carolians.

Will Greenwood OBE was guest of honour at the club's recent Sportsperson's Dinner.

The occasion marked the 50th anniversary of the founding of Kidderminster Carolians RFC, when the town club merged with the Old Carolians in 1969.

Greenwood won more than 50 caps for England and over his career played for Preston Grasshoppers, Waterloo, Leicester Tigers and Harlequins, as well as being a British Lion.

Outside of rugby, Greenwood is a strong supporter of the Borne Foundation that funds research to prevent premature child births.

In celebration the occasion, KCRFC made a donation in support of this charity’s work.

The next Sportsperson's Dinner will be held on October 14 2022 when the guest speaker will be England's 2003 Rugby World Cup winning captain Martin Johnson CBE.
