Keen gardeners from Husum will be making their fourth visit to Kidderminster next month. Instead of their normal July trip for the Kidderminster Horticultural Society Open Gardens Day, this visit is timed in order to see for themselves the spectacular Autumn Show. This will be held at the Ramada on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th September.

Their green fingers will be quickly put to the test as, en route from the airport to the welcome garden party, they stop off at Broadwaters Park to plant the very first Husum crocuses in the Twin Town Crocus Project. Every Spring, 6 million of these bulbs burst into a magical purple carpet of flowers in Husum's castle grounds. The Twinning Association is aiming to involve local groups in several areas of Kidderminster in planting much smaller but nevertheless attractive swathes of blooms!

The group will also be visiting Ludlow and - of course – some local gardens as well as experiencing the Show: a uniquely British event! The evening BBQ at the Show will be an opportunity to catch up with old friends from previous trips and meet other members of the Horticultural Society.

Any group or individual without a link to Husum and its people but wishing to find out more, or to visit our twin town, should contact Hilary Boyle (01562 68535) or visit www.kidderminster-husum-twinning.co.uk
