The Group started as the new estate grew and has kept its base at the Heronswood School and youth centre. Now the Group is over 120 members strong with 2 Scout Troops, 2 Cub packs and a Beaver colony with many local adults helping out.
As part of the birthday celebrations, all members were asked to come up with a design for a special celebration badge that will be worn throughout the year. All sections had a winner but the overall winner was Amelia Brookes ,12 from the Scout section and as well as having her design turned into a badge, she won a £20 voucher for her work.
The 9th Kidderminster are full to the brim with youngsters attending all their sections and they have shared the success of Scouting nationally over the past few years, doubling the size of their group in the past 5 years. If you want to know more about Scouting, please contact Jenny Greener on 01299 402889
Throughout 2013, the 9th Kidderminster members will have themed 30th celebrations in their badge work and events. There is to be a family celebration day in July and a group camp during the first week of October
