Chairman Derek Walker welcomed everyone at the meeting on February 19 but informed us on a very sad note that we had lost two of our members recently namely Jean Jones and Mark Eeles who will be sadly missed. The committee have been pleased with the renewed subscriptions coming in for the 2014 programme and show schedules.
Derek asked the group to be aware of three novice classes and reminded everyone to bring back their competition polyanthus plants for the Spring Show on March 29. The holiday bookings for the Kent Holiday in the Summer are almost full.
The speaker for the evening was Bob Lawrence Director of Wildlife at the West Midlands Safari Park.
On April 16 Adrian James will talk on “Country lanes of Cornwall”.
