WI – Forthcoming county events include an International Evening on October 27, a visit to The Houses of Parliament on November 4, a lunch with speaker on November 5 and ‘Christmas lunch without the labour’ on November 20. There will be a social skittles evening on October 17.
The speaker at the September meeting was Mr George Hook, who owns and runs one of the last two remaining mother of pearl button-making companies in the country.
Pam Gibbons, president of Heightington WI, reported on the AGM in Liverpool.
The next meeting on Wednesday at 7.30pm is a members’ evening. A beetle drive with wine and nibbles is being planned along with a tombola.
