At the May meeting, members discussed the Resolution to be heard at the National AGM in June, urging HM Government to introduce clear and mandatory country of origin labelling on all meat, poultry and fish products sold in this country.

The discussion was led by Lyn Bowen, with the voting result being sent to Rock WI who will represent Mamble and Menith Wood WI at the meeting.

President, Val Evans, thanked all who had helped in any way at the recent jumble sale which raised nearly £100.

Final arrangements were made for the outing to Hampton Court Gardens near Leominster on Tuesday June 15. An outing to Glansevern Gardens has been confirmed for August 9.

In the absence of the speaker through illness, Lyn Bowen told members about the interesting Writers’ Day event she had recently attended at W I House. It was agreed that the Institute will support the Worcester Breast Unit Appeal by saving unwanted bras and a collection box will be available at the next meeting on Monday June 14.

Mr George Hill will speak of his life as a gardener, the competition is a photograph of Father, and items are required for the Trading Stall.
