Val Evans was elected as President for her third year in office following the AGM at the November meeting.

The existing committee were reelected.

The financial statement was read, proposed and adopted. The secretary, Lyn Bowen, gave her report, reviewing the year when the institute had hosted a most successful spring Teme & Tenbury Group meeting.

In her presidential address, Val Evans reported that members had enjoyed a most interesting and enjoyable year and, in particular, thanked Shirley White who was retiring as programme secretary, after many years of service.

Suzanne Owen WIA reminded members to bring the ‘Vote for Resolution’ paperwork from the WI Life Magazine to the December meeting. She also encouraged members to promote the WI locally, in the hope of increasing membership.

Members continue to save unwanted bras for the Worcestershire Breast Care Unit Appeal.

The November meeting was the first to be held in the afternoon and the good attendance at the AGM justified the change.

Before the AGM business, president Val Evans reported on the aptumn Teme & Tenbury Group meeting which several members had attended. Menith Wood WI was the host Institute at the Tudor-themed evening.

The December meeting will be a Christmas lunch at Cadmore Lodge, Tenbury Wells on Monday December 13. All members are to bring a small gift for the Bran tub.

The January, February and March meetings will be held in the afternoon on the second Monday in Mamble Village Hall, starting at 2pm.

January’s speaker will be Terry Keegan from Clows Top, speaking about ‘Milestones and their Conservation’ at the meeting from 2.30pm.

Those wishing to attend, please phone the secretary on 01299 832495.
