Chris Jackson will complete his two-part history of the Worcestershire postal service at the meeting on Thursday, May 23.
In September 2011 in the first part of the history, Chris gave us a fascinating insight into the evolution of the Royal Mail during the reign of Henry VIII and its gradual development until a huge innovation occurred – the introduction of the Penny Black stamp, the inspiration of Rowland Hill of Kidderminster.
The meeting, focusing on the service after 1840, will take place at Clent Parish Hall at 8pm and everyone is most welcome. Admission costs £2.50 for non-members and includes tea, coffee and biscuits.
