CHADDESLEY CORBETT GARDENERS’ CLUB: Wonderful photographs, fantastic scenery and an excellent well researched talk from Diane Clements on Alpines in the wild and cultivation. So many of the plants we were surprised to find classed as Alpines, for example our cultivated blue cornflowers. One usually thinks of Alpines as small shy plants. Diane also suggested a number of ways that we could grow and display these wonderful but often difficult plants in our own gardens.

The annual garden visit on August 10 is quite near home only at Bromsgrove. We are visiting Marlbrook Gardens which consists of two very interesting gardens and anyone interested in vegetables should not miss it. We are meeting at 7pm in the car park up Braces Lane, on the left hand side as you leave the traffic lights at the Marlbrook Pub. Just before the Hilton Hotel. B60 1DY is the post code for the garden opposite the car park. Cost £6.50 for members and £7.50 for visitors. (we subsidise members). Including entrance to both gardens with tea and cake. This visit needs to be pre-booked so that we know how many are coming it is open to visitors. Further information: Olive Mason 01562 777451.

A reminder for the web-site: this is another opportunity to use your photographic talents for our website.
