A CLENT church are set to mark Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday with a special bell ringing open day.
Ringers at St Leonard’s Church will be opening up the tower to members of the public who would like to learn the historic art of bell ringing.
The open day will run from 11am until 4pm this Saturday (June 11), with organisers inviting all members of the community along to ‘have a go’.
Martin Whittaker, tower captain, said: “We thought the day would offer the perfect opportunity for people to come and see what we do.
“We will be available on the day to teach people who would like to learn bell ringing, and we will also have bells for those who would like to have a go.
“People can also take a trip up the tower, have a chance to chime the bells, and we will also show them how the bells actually work.”
