CLEOBURY Mortimer's police station will be closing down tomorrow and the town's market hall will be used as a Community Policing Post(CPP).
The CPP will allow officers and staff to continue to have a presence in the area and the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) will also be holding monthly PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meetings and surgeries at the hall
Sgt Richard Bailey, of West Mercia Police, said: “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to hold our PACT meetings and surgeries at the Market Hall.
"It shows our commitment to the community and also enables us to continue to strengthen our links with the people of Cleobury Mortimer.
"We would also like to thank the volunteers who have provided information and assistance at the front counter of the police station over the past few years.”
Barrie Sheldon, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia, added: “It is important that our Safer Neighbourhood Teams are as visible and accessible as possible, therefore I am pleased that they will continue to have a presence in the local area.”
