The garden should now be looking its best.

The borders are full of colour and scent such as roses and sweet peas fill the air and the vegetable garden producing fine crops. Long summer evenings can be enjoyed to the full, relaxing and entertaining friends.

The speaker at the May meeting was Cliff Wood, from Laylocks Garden Centre near Worcester. He was an absolute delight to listen to and gave some sound advice on all sorts of gardening subjects. He came along with some very good quality plants from the nursery for members to purchase.

The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 24, when Sue Russell will give a talk entitled ‘Perfume in the garden’.

The Clows Top Summer Show will be held on Saturday, August 24.

The club meets on the fourth Wednesday in the calendar month at Clows Top Victory Hall. Doors open 7.45pm, for the speaker at 8pm.

There are refreshments, a raffle and a plant stall. Non-members are welcome but membership is £5 per year. There is a great programme of speakers as well as evening visits to local gardens.
