HARTLEBURY COMMON LOCAL GROUP
Dr Joy Rooney, group chair-person, spoke on the history of Hartlebury Common: describing archaeological finds and varied land use since the industrial revolution. Old and recent photographs showed how conservation work has helped revert areas to their classic heathland landscape.
On Saturday, at the Greener Living Show at Kidderminster Town Hall (10.30-2.30pm), members will explain the opportunities available for conservation volunteering on Hartlebury Common.
On February 8, Gary Farmer will speak on “Hopping mad – all about grasshoppers and crickets” at Stourport Sports Club, Kingsway (DY13 8BQ - opposite Stourport High School) at 8pm; cost £3.
