HARTLEBURY COMMON LOCAL GROUP: Gary Farmer’s illustrated talk, "Hopping mad – all about grasshoppers and crickets", showed that Hartlebury Common is a good place to listen to, even if you cannot quite catch a glimpse of, these creatures. There are many species throughout the county, though hearing some of them can be difficult. Interestingly, Gary showed how he used a ‘bat detector’ to amplify cricket calls that were outside the human hearing range.
On March 7, Tim Selman will speak on "A 50 year vision for the Wyre Forest” at Stourport Sports Club, Kingsway (DY13 8BQ - opposite Stourport High School) at 8pm; cost £3. All are welcome.
