The summer outing this year was a coach tour along the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border.
The trip was greatly enhanced by guide, Brian Draper, whose inimitable commentary on features of interest was entertaining and informative.
The first stop was at Cirencester where some took morning coffee, some looked around the shops, some visited the impressive parish church and some did all three.
The group then travelled under the Marlborough Downs through Avebury and on to Lacock for lunch in that unique National Trust Village.
On the return journey, the coach drove through historic Malmesbury before moving on to Tetford where it stopped for afternoon tea and a look at Prince Charles’ Highgrove shop.
From there, the route took members through the Cotswolds before returning to Kidderminster.
The club’s next meeting at the Chester Road Bowling Club will be on Wednesday, August 21 when John Billingham will give his talk: ‘Images of Worcestershire 2’.
