CHAD'S WI: Ferrets visited us for our first meeting of the new year. There was a fascinating talk by Caroline and her husband who care for rescued ferrets and began by dispelling several myths about them. We learned how they were first introduced into this country 2,000 years ago from Europe and originally were considered a status symbol. They are very sociable, friendly animals and we were surprised to learn that many companies use them to lay fibre optic cables underground - the cables are attached to ferrets and they scurry along the pipes, emerging at the other end thus laying the cables!

We have a varied programme of speakers and demonstrations arranged for 2016 so please come along and join us - you will be made very welcome.

The club meets at 7.30pm on the first Tuesday of every month at St Chad's Church Hall, Burcher Green, Kidderminster. For further details please contact Wendy King on 01562 822162 or Ann Fairbrother on 01562 754827.
