KIDDERMINSTER SOROPTIMISTS: The third successful Bridge Tournament took place on Wednesday, April 26 at Blakedown Parish Room at its now customary venue. Under the supervision of expert professional Bridge adjudicators Mary and Paul Clayton from Hereford, 64 players enjoyed several rounds of play before a light finger food lunch including a selection of many different delicious cakes and during a slightly shorter afternoon session.

A cheque for £40 was presented by president Hilary Thompson to the winning pair: Chris Jones and his partner Dilwyn Bowen, second and third placed pairs received a cheque for £30 and £20 respectively plus the pair with the lowest score received a consolation cheque for £10.

After all prizes and expenses have been deducted, there will be about £600 to give to the Alzheimers’ Society . The raffle alone raised £165.

The next year’s tournament has already been agreed on April 28 2018.

The next Business meeting is on May 4 followed by our Supper Meeting May 18 at La Brasserie.

Visitors are welcome to any of our meetings. Soroptimist International is open to all women as from the age of 18.
