A drink and a snack box feature in this week's round-up of product recalls.

AG Barr is recalling Rubicon Yuzu & Pink Grapefruit cartons, while PepsiCo is recalling its Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has published allergy alerts for both products, including details of which batches are affected and what customers should do.

Rubicon Yuzu & Pink Grapefruit

The FSA says the 1L cartons may contain sulphites not mentioned on the label, posing a possible health risk to people sensitive to sulphur dioxide or sulphites.

Four batches are affected:

  • 6160: best before June 2027
  • 6198: best before July 2027
  • 6219: best before August 2027
  • 6257: best before September 2027

Anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites who has bought an affected carton should not consume it, the FSA advises.

They can return it to the shop where it was bought for a full refund, or contact consumercare@agbarr.co.uk for further information.

The FSA says notices explaining the recall will be displayed in retail stores selling the product.

Walkers Variety Snacks Sharing Box

PepsiCo is recalling the 655g box of six packs because wheat is not declared on the outer packaging, according to the FSA.

The problem concerns an 85g pack of Monster Munch Giants Roast Beef inside the box, which contains wheat and gluten.

The affected batch code is 107543, with best-before dates of 21 November 2026 or 16 January 2027.

The FSA says the product poses a possible health risk to people with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or with coeliac disease.

Those customers are advised not to eat the affected product and can contact the PepsiCo Consumer Care Line on 0800274777 or visit contact.pepsico.com/walkers for a full refund.

The alert applies to England, Scotland and Wales.

What is a product recall?

The FSA explains that a food may be withdrawn from sale when there is a problem that means it should not be sold.

A recall is when customers are asked to return the product, rather than it simply being taken off shelves.

Food can be withdrawn or recalled because allergy information is missing or incorrect, or because there is another food allergy risk.

When there is a food allergy risk, the agency issues an allergy alert.
