CHILDREN from Belarus were treated to a party at Whitlenge tearooms in Hartlebury.
The eastern Europeans were brought to Wyre Forest by Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline, a charity set up to provide them with respite care in the UK.
Fran Southall, who manages the tearooms, said: “It is a great cause providing an important service.
“It is estimated just a month in this country can boost the children’s immune systems to such an extent it may increase their life expectancy by two years.
“We gave the children an old fashioned party with a seek-and-find trail around the three-acre gardens followed by a high tea and games including pass-the-parcel and musical chairs.
“It was a lovely event that we will hopefully repeat next year.”
