AN OLYMPIC swimming athlete visited a Kidderminster primary school to host a fitness session with the pupils
Grant Turner visited to Comberton Primary School, where all the children were sponsored to take part in a fitness circuit with Grant. The pupils had to complete four exercises including spotty dogs, mountain climber, press ups and star jumps.
After the fitness circuit, Grant delivered an assembly to the children, in which he spoke about his career and how he became to be an elite athlete. He also spoke about how important it is to put 110 per cent effort into everything, to achieve your dreams.
The money raised from the sponsored circuit will be split between the school and the charity, Sports for Schools, who help up and coming athlete’s achieve their dreams. Comberton Primary will be spending their money on new sports equipment and also donating the rest to the Teenage Cancer Trust, who are currently support an ex-pupil.
Bryony Boulton, PE coordinator at the school, said: “The children have been inspired after meeting a real Olympian. They loved the assemblies and a great day was had by all.”
