WELLAND

WELLAND Teddy Bears are looking for a volunteer to help make the children's snacks and washing up! Is there someone out there that could spare the time to help?

The Teddy Bears are on a Friday morning from 9.15-11.15 in Welland Parish Hall. The committee would be very grateful if someone could help.

If you can, please email Lynette Grayling at lngreyling@gmail.com or just pop in on a Friday morning.

It is with sadness that I have to report the passing of two of the stalwarts of St.James.

Jim Crosby passed away last week after a long illness stoically born. He will be sadly missed not only by his family but all who knew him.

The other person that passed away last week was Angie Brown. Although Angie didn't live in Welland, she was a great supporter of our church here. She came to all our fundraisers and every Tuesday to our Just Clobber charity shop.

She was there in the beginning and it has been running now for over 15 years. She also, with her friend Gainor, ran the Just Clobber stalls on fete day. She is already being missed.

Welland Parish Council meet this coming Monday, October 15, in the parish hall. All are invited to come and not only listen, but to put forward any problems or items that you think the parish council should know about. It starts at 7.30pm.

November 3 see the Tredegar Choir coming to St James again. The tickets are on sale at Hanley Swan Village Stores and Welland Stores.

£10 to see and hear the choir in the church, £5 extra if you would like fish and chips and hear more of their singing in the parish hall after their official concert. There is also a licensed bar.

This coming Sunday, October 14 it is Morning Worship at 11am at St James. There is a baptism in this service taken by Reverend Linda Bedford and the Archdeacon Robert Jones will be preaching. All are very welcome.
