PASHA Everest Indian and Nepalese restaurant in St John’s is one of Worcester’s finest hidden gems, and the meal I had there was among the best I have had in a long time.

I had never eaten Nepalese cuisine before, and having the chance to try it was too good an opportunity to miss.

Bright and well lit inside, and with relaxing music playing quietly in the background, Pasha has a relaxing and light feel to it, something you do not always get in similar restaurants.

The restaurant has a calming feel to it, and the tables have plenty of space between them so you can eat without being squeezed in too tightly.

The staff are friendly and service was quick for all courses, which were piping hot and cooked to perfection.

For starters, the waiter recommended a Nepalese delicacy of lamb ‘momos’ - these were small lamb dumplings and they were nothing short of excellent.

The momos are a speciality of head chef Raju Khatri who has cooked for the likes of Prince William and Sachin Tendulkar, and are not commonly seen on menus in Indian restaurants.

The dumplings were served with salad and a small amount of ‘momo sauce’ - a mustard-like concoction which had a slightly sour taste and a bit of a kick and complimented them perfectly.

For my main course I ordered a special lamb kadai, a Nepalese curry which featured the best-cooked meat I have ever had in an Indian restaurant, it featured lamb, green peppers and mushrooms in a thick sauce and was so tender it fell apart under the fork.

The lamb kadai was without a doubt one of the best meals I have had in an Indian Restaurant, so nice in fact that I took home the bit I couldn’t finish and ate it for my lunch the day after.

The menu on the whole is extensive and diners really are spoilt for choice, with a full range of meat and meat free dishes to choose from.

All the dishes are reasonably priced, my main course was towards the pricier end of the menu at £9.50 but the portion I received was more than enough and the taste more than justified the cost.

Pasha re-opened on October 15 this year after an extensive refurbishment, and it is clear the staff have put a lot of hard work into making the experience of eating there as nice as possible for customers.

My meal at Pasha was one of the best I have had in an Indian restaurant, and I would thoroughly recommend it to any fan of Indian cuisine who fancies something a little bit different.
