A Rowley Regis schoolboy is "devastated" after his motorbike - which was a joint birthday and Christmas present - was stolen just two days after he got it on the road.

Skyla Hickinbottom's "pride and joy" was taken from the overflow car park at Sainsburys in Halesowen Street, Blackheath, on Saturday January 12, between 8.15pm and 9.45pm.

The 16-year-old St Michael's C of E pupil had only been riding the £1.5k Derby Sender for two days when it was taken and is now desperate to be reunited with it.

Mum Lisa Hodgetts said: "He's devastated.

"It was his first achievement in life really - the bike was his pride and joy.

"He waited all year for it - we bought it in September and it was his joint Christmas and birthday present as his birthday is on December 22.

"He passed his test on January 10 - got it insured and got on the road and then two days later it was stolen."

Lisa, who breeds bulldogs under the name Klassy Kanines, said the family have discovered there is no CCTV covering the area where the bike was taken from.

She said they had had a few reported sightings, which had led to nothing.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "There have been no arrests at this stage.
