A WORCESTER artist's painting has been selected to be shown in London alongside works by some of Britain’s leading watercolour painters.

Susan Birth's painting Regatta Riot was among more than 1,200 works submitted for the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours 207th exhibition.

The exhibition is at the Mall Galleries in central London on April 3 to 18.

She said: "I love art and have painted off and on through my life. In early 2017, I decided to put my heart and soul into it.

"In February I learned, much to my astonishment, that my submission to the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour was successful and that my painting would be exhibited in London in April.

"To me, the members of the Royal Institute are real artists to be admired and be in awe of, so the opportunity to exhibit a painting alongside them is incredible.

"I’m so thrilled to have been chosen. To be honest, I still can’t quite believe it’s true.

"I’ll be going to the private view on April 2 to see it in situ along with very many great works by some fantastic artists. I'm really looking forward to it."

Closer to home, paintings by Susan are currently on show at the Coach House Theatre in Grange Road, Malvern, until Wednesday, March 13.

They can be viewed during pre-show or interval times, or call the theatre on 01684 569011 for viewing times.
