A DEDICATED group of volunteers has said they will carry out or support a clean-up activity every day for the duration of the Great British Spring Clean.

Local community group Keep Bromsgrove Beautiful said members are determined to play their part to help improve the environment on their doorstep.

Mostly the activity will be litter picking, and the group is keen to hear from anyone in the district who wants to get involved.

Keep Bromsgrove Beautiful founder and Keep Britain Tidy #LitterHeroes Ambassador, Sarah Milburn said: “I’m so excited that our group will be contributing to the Great British Spring Clean.

"We’re working in partnership with so many fabulous local groups and with everyone pulling together I’m sure we can reach our target to have some activity happen in Bromsgrove every day of the campaign.”

Group members will be out on various days during the campaign, litter picking in groups or as individuals, with the group's own regular litter pick taking place on Saturday, March 30.

The group will also be supporting and promoting activities being carried out by other local groups during the Spring Clean event, such as the litter picks by Catshill First and Middle Schools, Oakhills and Parklands, Lickey Hills, Bromsgrove Street Pastors, Rigby Hall School, Chadsgrove School, Finstall Cubs, Fairfield, Hunters Hill College, and many more.

Sarah added: “We’d love to hear from anyone who wants to contribute to this fantastic community event. Our group was set up to give people a sense of pride in their area and the Great British Spring Clean is aiming to inspire people across the country to join forces – we want to be a part of this.

"Alongside the litter picking I am planning a personal challenge and I am looking for nominations for grubby road name signs as I hope to clean one on each day.”

Anyone wanting to join can sign up via the Keep Bromsgrove Beautiful Facebook group or email kbb@itstartswithus.co.uk.

The Great British Spring Clean, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, runs from March 22 to April 23.
