A woman from Evesham has received a Confiscation Order, secured under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Wendy Dillingham, aged 61, of Wisteria Drive, Evesham appeared at Hereford Crown Court on Friday  May 3.

In July 2017, Dillingham was sentenced to five years' imprisonment at Worcester Crown Court, having pleaded guilty to theft, fraud and false accounting.

Between 1987 and March 2014, Dillingham was employed by an Evesham-based company as company secretary.

Whilst working for the company, she used her position of trust in order to steal money from the business and created false bank statements in order to cover the theft of £267,547.

At today's court hearing, a Confiscation Order to the value of £340,000 was made against Dillingham.

She has three months to pay the money back to the company, or she will face another three and a half years imprisonment.

Mr Mark Bancroft, a financial investigator with Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police's economic crime unit, said: "The Proceeds of Crime legislation is a powerful tool in the fight for justice and removing assets from the offender to rightly reimburse the victims of their crime, even if they have been subject to a custodial sentence."
