TODAY'S picture from the archive of the Worcester News dates back to November 1982, when work was well under way to convert a decaying part of the city centre. The block containing the old Scala Cinema and Crown Hotel was gutted to creates a new shop-lined arcade - what we now know as Crown Passage - linking Broad Street and Angel Street. The project had been designed by city architects Glazzards.
