HEREFORDSHIRE Council’s new leader has today announced who will form part of his cabinet.

Council leader David Hitchiner will continue to direct the local authority’s corporate policy and strategy and have overall budget responsibility.

Green Party councillor Felicity Norman will be deputy leader and be responsible for children and families.

Councillor Gemma Davies has been appointed as contracts and assets cabinet member while fellow Independent Pauline Crocket will be in charge of health and wellbeing and Ange Tyler will be responsible for transport and regulatory services.

It’s Our County’s John Harrington will head up the infrastructure and Liz Harvey will be responsible for finance and corporate services.

And Green councillor Ellie Chowns will be in charge of economy and communications.

Councillor Hitchiner said: “Herefordshire is a proudly independent and ingenious county.

“I look forward to drawing on best practice, using our strengths and talents, to be a council that serves and works with the people of Herefordshire, with openness and imagination at its heart.

“Our cabinet members bring a variety of skills and some new experience. I am confident that working together we will do well for the county we all love.”
