THIS is the dramatic image of an air ambulance making a tricky landing on Holt Fleet bridge over the River Severn, after a teenage pedestrian was struck by a car.
The 13-year-old boy suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital but his condition remains unknown.
Named locally as Ryan, he was given trauma care at the scene on Sunday afternoon but no-one else was injured.
The road from Ombersley to the Holt Fleet island was closed in both directions while a Midlands Air Ambulance landed, though it was a road ambulance that took the patient to Birmingham Children's Hospital.
The police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any dashcam footage.
The car involved in the collision was a maroon Mini Cooper and was approaching Holt from Ombersley on the westbound A4133.
A spokesman for Midlands Ambulance Service said the emergency call was made at 4.44pm and two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.
An air ambulance with a doctor onboard also responded, landing on the bridge, before transporting the boy to hospital at 6.02pm.
